Every data source, time-aligned for review

Synchronised video, vessel telemetry and GPS across deck, helm and engine spaces.

Review an event frame by frame against position, speed, engine data and impact readings. Export a trip report for debrief, insurer or chain-of-command. Data stays on the vessel in 4TB encrypted storage — nothing leaves without your instruction.

Incident investigation & compliance

Supporting incident investigation and compliance on high-speed craft

MGN 436 Amendment 5 focuses on reducing injury risk from whole body vibration, severe shocks and repeated impacts on small vessels.

It reflects growing best practice around shock-mitigating technology and operational data. BRNKL Black does not replace risk assessment or operator judgement. It gives your team a stronger evidence base for incident investigation, trip replay and exposure review.

For direct helm-facing impact feedback, pair BRNKL Black with Wave Guardian or the most suitable impact monitoring pathway for the application.

Military RIB high-speed craft
Optional integration

Crew impact and shock exposure

For specialist high-speed craft assessment, BRNKL Black can be configured as part of a wider impact and shock exposure monitoring approach. This may include body-worn or helmet-mounted sensors, vessel-mounted accelerometers and, where specified by Mission Dynamics, an optional MAREC-related shock exposure data pathway.

FAQ

BRNKL Black: common questions

What is BRNKL Black?
BRNKL Black is a marine black box and secure onboard data recorder. It captures synchronised video, vessel telemetry, GPS tracking, impacts and alerts in one time-aligned record, with full trip replay for incident investigation.
Does BRNKL Black need an internet connection?
No. BRNKL Black is offline-first. Data is stored on the vessel in 4TB encrypted onboard storage and nothing leaves the boat unless you choose to export it, making it suitable for operations where cloud dependency is not acceptable.
Who is BRNKL Black for?
It is built for defence and military craft, police and enforcement vessels, Border Force, coast guard, offshore wind crew transfer vessels and commercial workboat fleets that need secure recording and evidence after an event.
What does BRNKL Black connect to?
NMEA 2000, CAN bus, RTSP and ONVIF cameras (including FLIR, Raymarine, Garmin and Axis), Ethernet, RS232, Wi-Fi, seven analogue or digital I/O channels and digital switching.
How long does installation take?
A typical install takes around two hours. BRNKL Black is flange mounted and suits both new build and refit projects.
Does BRNKL Black support MGN 436 and incident investigation?
BRNKL Black gives your team a stronger evidence base for incident investigation, trip replay and exposure review in the context of MGN 436 Amendment 5. It supports, but does not replace, risk assessment and operator judgement.
